The city of Benicia in Northern California is testing "Adapting to Rising Tides (ART)," an adaptation model developed by the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC). Homeowners, business owners, community groups, and public agencies have already convened to provide input and address the concerns of residents so that the city can now develop strategies to address sea level rise, storm surge, and extreme temperatures. This project was funded by the California State Coastal Conservancy’s Climate Ready Grant program. Expected completion date for the plan: June 2015.
