Valley Vision is spearheading the Capital Region Business Resiliency Initiative, which has prepared a document called the Disaster Preparedness Toolkit. Valley Vision is an independent nonprofit organization that focuses on improving the livability and sustainability of the Sacramento region through research and collaboration with government agencies. The toolkit will help reduce the risk of economic impacts of weather-related disasters in the state capitol region by giving small businesses the information and skills they need to build continuity plans. The document contains instructions for adaptation and recovery in the face of natural disasters such as floods or wildfires, as well as additional insurance tips to improve the disaster resilience of small businesses. The project was funded by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Pacific Gas and Electric, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.
