California Legislature Passes 2030 Goals to Reduce Global Warming Emissions

On September 11, 2015, the State legislature enrolled Senate Bill 350, which establishes ambitious 2030 targets to reduce California’s emissions of climate-changing pollutants. Specifically, the bill requires that California attain 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, up from a current renewable procurement goal of 33% by 2020. The bill also requires that California double its electricity and natural gas savings from energy efficiency by 2030.
