UC Berkeley’s Geospatial Innovation Facility (GIF), the California Strategic Growth Council and the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) are hosting a two-hour workshop in association with the UC ANR Climate Change Program Team meeting at UC Berkeley on Wednesday, April 29.
Wednesday, April 29
10:00am - 12:00pm
University of California-Berkeley (room TBD)
Participants in the workshop will discuss California’s climate change adaptation data needs and the continued development of the Cal-Adapt platform. The workshop will include a brief demo of the Cal-Adapt platform to introduce the latest data and tools available and then break out into discussion groups to generate user feedback and guide the development of new tools and features. Depending on audience interests, these topics could include:
- Planning a community climate vulnerability and resiliency tool
- Integrating with the ICARP Adaptation Clearinghouse
- Visualizing compounding effects of multiple climate impacts
- Improving data tool function and relevance for natural resource managers
Practitioners and researchers engaged with climate adaptation are encouraged to attend. In particular, the workshop will be geared toward staff from city and state planning organizations and natural resource managers.
